Examination requirements: In-depth knowledge and application of scientific methods and working techniques in the context of a complex technical problem with a reference to research.
Type of Examination: Research report + presentation and discussion of the results in front of a specialist audience
Objectives:After successfully completing the module, students can systematically and analytically examine complex research work. You can use acquired knowledge in an interdisciplinary manner and have routine in the preparation of technical documentation. The students are able to work independently and self-organized in a team or in a group. They can systematically and analytically investigate new and complex research-related problems and develop, discuss and communicate problem solutions.
Course contents:Temporally limited research tasks are handled individually or as a team. Preferably, these are complex tasks of larger research projects, that should be performed generally at the university e. g. in doctorate projects. The following scientific methods and working techniques in the context of an application project with research relevance are expected:
- Analysis of the task and goal definition
- Creation schedule or milestone plan
- Research and information gathering
- Analysis of the data
- Development of possible solution concepts
- Technical evaluation of selected solutions
- Presentation of results
