Exam requirements:Sound knowledge of rubber devices with regard to design and dynamical requirements under consideration of friction, vibration and damping effects.
Objectives:Increased knowledge applied on analysing, assessment and calculation of the dynamical behaviour of rubber devices considering non-linear effects.
Course contents:The module deals with basics of rubber, possible material descriptions to reflect dynamical effects, experimental approaches for parameter identification, aspects of local friction behaviour depending on different parameters, attempts of modelling of rubber friction resulting in dynamical friction, vibration and damping effects of typical rubber systems like tyre tread blocks and axial moved seals.
