Requirements:Successful completion of the modules Basics of Electrical Engineering 1 and 2, and Mathematics 1 and 2 and parallel participation in Mathematics 3 are recommended.
Objectives:After successful completion of the modules "Basics of Electrical Engineering", students have basic knowledge of electrical engineering. This knowledge forms the foundation for advanced lectures. Students are able to recognise and solve application problems caused by magnetic fields and magnetic circuits. Furthermore, they can understand and mathematically analyse correction processes.

The form of the lab course with intensive and autonomous group work requires that the students deal with different communication and working styles in their groups. Accordingly, the students are able to independently apply the basics of classical project management, such as team organization, task planning and division of labor. In this way, they have trained social skills such as teamwork, criticism and communication skills. Furthermore, they have the competence to find solutions to problems and to select the right methods, to conduct research and independent acquisition of knowledge as well as to present and comprehensively document work results.
Contents:Induction law, transformers, permanent magnetic circuits, energy and power in magnetic fields. A brief introduction to Maxwell equations. Switching processes, also for networks, direct-current and alternating-current sources.
Applicability:Mandatory module for the Electrical Engineering course and elective mandatory module for other courses
