Objectives:The students have special method knowledge about selection and design of electrical drives. They have in-depth knowledge about the operational performance of DC and rotating field machines controlled by electronic power actuators. The students have basic knowledge of the operational performance and control of servomotors.
The students are able to analyse mechanical mechanisms concerning drive moments, accelerations and the resulting power consumption. They are able to select and optimize drive systems.
Contents:Subject of this module are physical principles of electrical machines. The DC machine is regarded concerning design and functioning, main equations, operational performance, speed control, start and brakes. The subject are furthermore converter-fed DC motors, fundamentals of the rotating field machines and concerning the asynchronous machine the design and functioning, the operational performance and types of losses. This module deals with the design and operational performance of servomotors.
Subject of this module is furthermore the rigid body idealization, the reduction of moments of inertia, the equation of motion of one degree of freedom drive system, the chracteristics of propulsion system, characteristics of working mechanisms, coupling elements, free and force excited vibrations with and without damping, the placement of drive systems concerning active and passive isolation.
Applicability:Compulsory module for this course of studies and an elective module for other study paths.
