Objectives:Students have basic knowledge about growth conditiones of microorganisms, about shape and constitution of microbial cells, and about metabolism and systematics of organisms. They know the basic principles of hygiene and hygiene management.
Contents:This module includes the definition of microbiology and the classification of living organisms. Further contents are structure of the eucaryotic cell, structure of the procaryotic cell, mobility and sporulation, nutrient demand, growth dependence for temperature, pH-value and water activity, sterilisation, bacterial systematics and systematics of lower eucaryots. Basic principles of hygiene and hygiene management are tought.
Applicability:Compulsory module for this course of studies and an elective module for other study paths.nations.
