Requirements:A successful completion of the modules statik, CAD, strength of materials and machine elements 2 is advisable.
Objectives:The students have in-depth-knowledge and abilities for the treatment of a task of draft. The students are able to compute and design screwed joints, mechanical springs, axles and shafts, roller bearings and plain bearings. They can carry out drafts of an assembly group with documentation, parts list, strength calculation and acceptance trial.
The form of the lab course with intensive and autonomous group work requires that the students deal with different communication and working styles in their groups. Accordingly, the students are able to independently apply the basics of classical project management, such as team organization, task planning and division of labor. In this way, they have trained social skills such as teamwork, criticism and communication skills. Furthermore, they have the competence to find solutions to problems and to select the right methods, to conduct research and independent acquisition of knowledge as well as to present and comprehensively document work results.
Contents:Subject of this module are the design from screws and nuts, the computation according to VDI-2230 and the designing of screwed joints. The design of mechanical springs, the computation of coil springs, diaphragm springs, leaf springs and torsion bars is regarded. Subject is furthermore the function and mode of action, the design and calculation of bearings. This module deals furthermore with the designing and computation of axles and shafts.
Applicability:Compulsory module for this course of studies and an elective module for other study paths.
