Requirements:A successful completion of the modules Engineering Thermodynamics I, Fluid Mechanicse is advisable.

Objectives:The goal of this course is to introduce students to the non ideal behaviour of one- and two phase substances in different thermal machines and plants in order to understand the thermodynamic principles of modern energy systems.
Contents:Working fluid in thermal machines and plants; properties and equilibrium state changes of homogenous and heterogenous systems, especially for the one-component system water/steam. Mixing of gases and steam, especially moist air. Heat transfer and heat exchanger, especially recuperators; Combustion processes
Applicability:Compulsory module for this course of studies and an elective module for other study paths.
