Objectives: | The courses in Mathematics I – III shall provide the students with basic mathematical knowledge as well as with the way of mathematical thinking and the application of mathematical procedures, which are the basis of the following engineering courses. The students shall be acquainted with the techniques for solving mathematical problems and shall learn how to apply mathematical procedures to engineering tasks. |

Contents: | This module includes the differential calculus for functions of more than one variable: partial derivatives, total differential. Applications of calculus in technical engineering problems are discussed. An introduction to vector analysis is given. The topic of integral calculus includes ordinary, double and triple integrals, and corresponding applications. Line integrals, independence of path of integration, and infinite series, especially power series are further included in this course. |

Applicability: | Compulsory module for this course of studies and an elective module for other study paths. |
