Objectives:The three-week international Summer School is organized in several modules focusing on e. g. medical electronics, computer-based methods in biomedical Engineering (BE), biomedical instrumentation and signal processing as well as social and medical aspects of BE.
The objectives are to give insights to technical as well as safety aspects of engineering work. Students learn how to integrate these aspects into the design of biomedical devices which are certified and marketed within Europe.
The international Summer School “Biomedical Signal and Image Acquisition, Processing and Analysis” is targeted to graduate students of biomedical engineering and related fields at the beginning of their Master studies.
Students follow seminars and work in laboratories on various top-ics. The course includes visits to hospitals and companies in the biomedical industry as well as excursions to local sights.
All lectures and examinations are held in English language.
Course contents:- students learn about the latest developments in biomedical engineering
- students gain insight in innovation and automation of medical equipment and medical instrumentation
- students learn about the implications of new ways of medical treatment on patients
- students learn to use innovative design models to innovate existing medical instrumentation and devices students learn to work in international teams to find solutions
- students learn to give presentations on technical topics to improve the English language skills
- students work in international teams to find solutions which can cater for the needs of different cultures and to improve the skills in intercultural communication
All lectures and examinations are held in English language.
