Exam requirements:In-depth knowledge of power electronic circuits and their application in modern, sustainable energy systems. Knowledge of circuits and methods of grid feed-in and grid stabilization as well as efficient energy transfer and storage.
Objectives:After successful participation in the module, students will be familiar with special power electronic circuits for the use of regenerative energy systems.They are familiar with methods of grid injection and grid stabilization as well as efficient energy transmission and storage. They can analyze and configure complex converter circuits and know the common pulse control methods and control concepts. They are able to systematically and analytically investigate new and complex research-related problems such as operating behavior, network perturbations and harmonics.
Course contents:Special power electronic circuits for the use of future mostly regenerative energy systems. Topics in the field of grid feed-in and grid stabilization, efficient energy transmission and storage or in the area of e-mobility will be taught. The lecture includes circuits for voltage balancing on battery cells, DC / DC converters with and without galvanic isolation as well as numerous DC / AC converters up to multilevel converters. In addition to the analysis of converter circuits and the dimensioning and configuration, pulse control methods and their influence on the operating behavior, system perturbations and harmonic behavior as well as control concepts for converter circuits are taught.
