Exam requirements:In-depth knowledge of static and dynamic parameters of digital circuits.
Basic knowledge of computer based design and simulation of digital systems.
Successful participation in the experiments of the lab: preparation
(theory), running the experiments, laboratory reports.
Objectives:After successfully completing the laboratory work, students will be able to understand the behavior of digital circuits and their characteristics. In addition, they can create a computer-aided design of digital systems and use metrological tools to verify their function. They are able to prepare, execute, document and interpret typical design, simulation and measurement tasks of digital technology.

The form of the lab course with intensive and autonomous group work requires that the students deal with different communication and working styles in their groups. Accordingly, the students are able to independently apply the basics of classical project management, such as team organization, task planning and division of labor. In this way, they have trained social skills such as teamwork, criticism and communication skills. Furthermore, they have the competence to find solutions to problems and to select the right methods, to conduct research and independent acquisition of knowledge as well as to present and comprehensively document work results.

Examples of computer based design and simulation of digital systems.
Principles and parameters of A/D- and D/A converters.
