Exam requirements: 
Objectives:After successful participation in the course, the students will have an overview of the measuring principles, measuring methods and measuring devices of laser measuring technology. They can select suitable laser-based measurement methods for certain measurement tasks.
Course contents:The question "what is light?", Physical basics of a laser light source as well as optical sensors; Geometric-optical applications of laser measurement technology in automation and production technology such as laser triangulation, laser leveling and distance and dimension measurements; theoretical fundamentals of light interference and diffraction, coherent laser-based measurement techniques such as the interferometric measurement of workpieces; Spectroscopy.
