Objectives:After successful completion of the module the students have extended competences to successfully plan and carry out interdisciplinary project work. They are able to apply interdisciplinary knowledge acquired during their studies, to work independently and self-organized in a team or in a group, and have routine in producing documentation. They can work on a coherent scientific project on a field suitable for the study program and thereby experience the environment of the work as an engineer and gain insight into economic, administrative, legal or social contexts of the work area.
Course contents:Temporally limited tasks are handled individually or as a team. Preferably, these are subtasks from major research carried out at the university or at cooperating companies. In addition to the technical tasks of the work area, findings from economic, administrative, legal or social contexts are to be gained in the interdisciplinary project. Subsequent working techniques in the context of a cross-functional project are expected:
- Analysis of the task and goal definition
- Creation schedule or milestone plan
- Development of concepts
- Evaluation and communication
- Presentation of findings
