Objectives:This lecture is designed for students in the department of Mechanical Engineering and presents fundamentals of internal combustion engines in order to understand the principles of modern systems.
Course contents:Mode of action, structure, classification u. Distinguishing features of internal combustion engines; Thermodynamics of the internal combustion engine (comparative and real processes, energy conversion, possibilities for influencing the process); Characteristics of internal combustion engines; Pollutant formation and exhaust aftertreatment as well as basic knowledge about engine dynamics. In addition, fuels, the air path and the charge of the internal combustion engine and the engine management.
