Exam requirements:Knowledge of optical imaging and optical elements (lenses, prisms, filters, materials and fabrication). Refraction and reflexion of light; polarizied light (Fresnel-formulas). Basic knowledge of optical instrumentation and optical measurement.
Objectives:The lectures provide knowledge of optical imaging optics (lenses, objectives) and basic knowledge of optical components and material followed by dedicated applications of optical instrumentation and optical systems. The students enhance their experience in a practical term by experimental work.
Course contents:- Refraction of light; optical media; light sources.
- Glass lenses, objectives; optical imaging, paraxial formulas; optical elements.
- dedicated optical instruments, including the human eye, etc.
- basic aspects in optical design and manufacturing
