Exam requirements:In-depth knowledge about MOS transistors, transistor circuits for logic gates, design of mask layout for wafer fabrication, technologies and about chip area, power consumption, delay times and further characteristic parameters. Knowledge about software tools for design and verification of integrated circuits.
Objectives:Gain of knowledge about the integration of electronic circuits from the circuit developers point of view. Understanding the influence of relevant circuit parameters on the minimization of chip area and power consumption as on the maximization of the switching frequency.
Course contents:MOS transistors, transistor circuits for logic gates, design of mask layout for wafer fabrication, technologies. Chip area, power consumption, delay times and further characteristic parameters. Software tools for design and verification of integrated circuits.
