Exam requirements:Deepened knowledge of vehicle chassis, wheel suspension systems, steering elements and dynamic behavior of vehicles. Knowledge of new systems in vehicles.
Objectives:Knowledge of function, structure and intraction of chassis components. Deepened knowledge of vehicle chassis, wheel suspension systems, steering elements, shock absorbers and of the dynamic behavior of vehicles. Special method knowledge of design, dimensioning and computing of individual components.
Course contents:Introduction: Introduction to the chassis technology, requirements of chassis, conflicting aims, legal requirements, new technologies.
Driving dynamics: Vertical dynamics, horizontal dynamics, evaluation criteria.
Wheel suspension systems: Function, structure and impact of axles, kinetics of wheel control systems.
Steering elements: Function, structure and impact of steering elements, kinetics, steering components.
shock absorbers: Function, structure and impact of shock absorbers, two-tubing absorber, single tubing absorber.
dynamic systems: Function, structure and impact of dynamic systems, anti-skid system (ABS), anti-slip regulation (ASR), Active Body control (ABC).
