Exam requirements:Basic knowledge of automotive technology, deepened knowledge of drive systems of vehicles, driving resistances, drive components, brakes and tires
Objectives:Knowledge of function, structure and interaction of vehicle components. Deepened knowledge of drive systems of vehicles, driving resistances and engine characteristics. Special method knowledge of project engineering, dimensioning and calculating of individual components.
Course contents:Introduction: Introduction to automotive technology, mobility, requirements of vehicles and conflicting aims, legal requirements, new technologies.
Driving resistances: Computation of air resistance, upward gradient resistance, rolling friction, acceleration resistance and traction power reserve.
Drive train: Structure and function mode of combustion engines, characteristic diagrams of combustion engines, interaction of combustion engines with driving resistances.
Clutches and gear drives: Structure, function and computation, hydrodynamic transducers, and differentials.
Tire: Forms, structure and designations.
Brake: Structure and function mode of vehicle brakes, types of brakes, disc brakes, drum brakes, actuation equipments, auxiliary brakes.
