Exam requirements:Knowledge of the structure and the design of communication systems. Deepend knowledge of ieee.802.x standards and of essential wide area network systems. Knowledge of common mobile radio systems.
Objectives:Knowledge of communication systems for local and global applications. Differentiation und description of mobile and stationary systems as well as their structure and acting.
Course contents:Introduction and overview of communication systems. Basics, topologies, infrastructure, coding methods, transmission procedures, switching technologies, standards. Local wired communication systems, ieee 802.x, csma/cd, performance analysis in communication systems. Wide area systems and multiplexing, n-isdn and pcm, b-isdn and atm, tcp/ip, lre, xdsl. Local and global mobile radio systems, cdma and frequency hopping, gsm, umts, lte, wlan, bluetooth.
