Exam requirements:Qualified knowledge of design, functioning and operational performance of AC and three-phase transformers. In-depth knowledge of design, functioning, operational performance and control of synchronous and asynchronous machines. Basic knowledge of the dynamic behaviour and the simulation of DC and asynchronous machines.
Objectives:Practical experience with selected electrical machines. Practical implementation and deepening of knowledge of the three-phase transformer, the asynchronous and synchronous machines.
The form of the lab course with intensive and autonomous group work requires that the students deal with different communication and working styles in their groups. Accordingly, the students are able to independently apply the basics of classical project management, such as team organization, task planning and division of labor. In this way, they have trained social skills such as teamwork, criticism and communication skills. Furthermore, they have the competence to find solutions to problems and to select the right methods, to conduct research and independent acquisition of knowledge as well as to present and comprehensively document work results.
Course contents:Measurement of the characteristics of electrical machines. The single-phase trans-former, the three-phase transformer, voltage equations, current locus of the three-phase current asynchronous machine with slipring rotor (AMSL), self-excited asynchronous generator at separate network, characteristics and operational performance of a synchronous machine (neutral and short circuit characteristic), voltage equations, regulation curves, V curves
